Energy and Electricity are vital resources for the well-being and prosperity of a country and its people. Many of the Caribbean OCTs have made significant strides in liberating the energy sector from fossil fuel dependence and have moved towards energy efficiency in consumption and energy diversification in electricity generation.
The RESEMBID programme seeks to support the Caribbean Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) in their thrust to deliver resilient energy services to their respective local populations – which translate into increased capacity and competency of the people to utilize and maintain innovative technologies, whilst contributing to low carbon development locally and regionally. RESEMBID, will provide substantive technical assistance through a myriad of channels including the provision of technical training in energy efficiency and renewable energy, the commissioning of feasibility studies and subsequent pilot and proof-of-concept projects in-country.
The Programme further seeks to encourage regional integration and functional cooperation, by facilitating the development and exchange mission-critical knowledge towards the uptake and internalization of sustainable energy within the OCTs.
