Karen Mahy
Manager, Communications and Visibility
Hailing from Barbados, Karen brings over 24 years’ experience in Mass Communications to the RESEMBID team and was most recently Communications Lead with the Climate Resilience Execution Agency for Dominica (CREAD). Prior to this, she held senior communications positions with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
Born to Grenadian parents, this daughter of Caribbean soil has also held high level positions with local, regional, and international companies in the USA, Barbados, Suriname and St. Vincent and also has extensive communications and public relations experience throughout the OECS. Karen holds an Honors Post-Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication Studies from the Caribbean Institute of Media and Communication, University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica.
Karen is passionate about Caribbean development and the opportunity to join the RESEMBID team is a natural progression in her journey to significantly contribute to acute regional awareness in the areas of resilience, sustainable energy and marine biodiversity and the critical importance of projects under these key thematic areas. She is eagerly looking forward to sharing the phenomenal and impactful work being undertaken in the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs).
